Q: What have been the biggest adjustments for you from high school to college basketball?
Sandro Carissimo: The biggest adjustment from high school to college basketball was probably the intensity and competition in practice.
Q: Did it help that your former high school teammate
Brian Voelkel was coming to Vermont when you made your decision?
SC: Yes, he was the one that convinced me to come on my official visit to Vermont. I loved the school on my visit and decided to commit about a week after.
Q: You had a great first game against Siena. Were you nervous at all, especially in front of a pretty big crowd?
SC: Yes, being my first college game I was nervous in the beginning, but once I got out there for a little I was able to settle down.
Q: What is your favorite class so far and why?
SC: My favorite class is BSAD 40, Business Management and Technology because I enjoy the subject and it is allowing me to get a taste of all the different aspects of business.
Q: Are you excited to play close to home this year when Vermont travels to face Iona?
SC: Yes, a lot of my friends and family will be there especially since it is over Christmas break. We just better get a win.
Q: What was it like playing against UConn's Kemba Walker earlier this year?
SC: It was fun playing against Kemba especially since he played on the Gauchos, which is the same AAU team I was on; so our teams would go on road trips together and played in a lot of the same tournaments.
Q: What would you say is your biggest strength on the court? What do you need to work on?
SC: I think that my biggest strength on the court is my shot, and I need to work most on my physical strength.
Q: Talk about what it was like playing your first home game at Patrick Gym?
SC: It was a lot of fun playing my first game at Patrick Gym. It was nice to be home and have the entire crowd behind the team.
