BOSTON – University of Vermont senior Ian Weider has been named the America East Male Field Performer of the Week for the period ending December 11. The league office made the announcement on Wednesday.

The Catamounts competed at the Jay Carisella Invitational last Saturday (Dec. 10), hosted by Northeastern University at the Reggie Lewis Center in Roxbury, Massachusetts. Weider won the long jump with a mark of 7.23m (23' 8.75") as the UVM men turned in a second place performance with 112 points.
 
Weider's performance was tied for the 29th-best in the nation at this early juncture of the season.
 
Vermont is back in action after the holidays, resuming competition on Saturday, Jan. 14 at Dartmouth.
