BURLINGTON, Vt. – UVM men's basketball redshirt senior
Ernie Duncan has been selected to participate in the 2019 3X3U National Championship scheduled for April 5-7 at the Mall of America in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Duncan is one of four players who will represent Team America East.
Duncan finished his UVM career as one of the top outside scoring threats to ever sport the green and gold. The Evansville, Indiana native is the program's all-time leader in three-point percentage (41.9%) and made the second-most total triples (308). In his final campaign, he was named to the America East All-Conference First Team and the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) All-District I Second Team. Samuel Dingba will graduate as the school's all-time winningest class with 106 career victories.
The tournament is comprised of all-star teams of seniors, who have exhausted their collegiate eligibility, representing all 32 Division I conferences. The teams will compete for a $150,000 prize pool, with the champions taking home $100,000, double the prize money from a year ago. Additionally, the winners will earn the right to compete in the 2019 USA Basketball 3x3 Open National Championship later this spring.
All games of the 3X3U National Championship will be carried live on Twitter or ESPN2. Pool play will begin on Friday, April 5 at 3 p.m. ET with 24 games streamed live exclusively on Twitter. Pool play will continue on Saturday, April 6 at 9:30 a.m. ET with 24 more games streamed live on Twitter. Round of 16 and quarterfinal games can also be seen on Twitter on Sunday, April 7 at 10:30 a.m. ET, with semifinal, consolation and championship games televised live on ESPN2 later beginning at 3 p.m. ET.

Trae Bell-Haynes '18 and Team America East made it through pool play and advanced to the quarterfinal round of the tournament.
