BOSTON, Mass. – University of Vermont junior
Nick Washuta earned America East Defensive Player of the Week honors for the second straight week and fourth time this season for his performance in Vermont's 15-6 win over Hartford last Saturday (Mar. 23).

Washuta tallied 13 saves in three quarters as Vermont took a 12-0 lead over the Hawks into the fourth quarter. The junior added three ground balls. He has recorded double-digit saves in four consecutive games.
Dating back to UMBC's lone fourth quarter goal last week, the Orono, Minnesota native has gone 59:46 without allowing a goal.
The junior leads the America East with a .561 save percentage and a 9.72 goals against average. He is the lone AE goalie with a GAA under 11. He ranks third in program history with 21 career wins.
UVM returns to the road with an America East conference game at UMass Lowell this Saturday (Mar. 30). The game is slated to begin at 7:00 p.m. at Cushing Field.
