Nick Washuta earned America East Defensive Player of the Week honors for the fifth time this season and freshman
David Closterman earned Rookie of the Week honors for the fourth time following Vermont's win over Binghamton (Apr. 13).

Washuta recorded nine saves while allowing only four goals in just over 50 minutes of work. He held the Bearcats scoreless for 25:50 of gameplay spanning from late in the first quarter to late in the third quarter.
The Orono, Minnesota native now ranks fifth in the NCAA with a 9.07 goals against average and third in the nation with a .600 save percentage. He leads America East in both categories. Washuta earns his 10th career honor from the conference, extending his program lead.
Closterman tallied one goal and a career-high three assists in UVM's conference win over Binghamton. The Doylestown, Pennsylvania native is tied for fourth on the team with 23 points. With his fourth rookie of the week honor this season, Closterman passes
Dawes Milchling and
Ian MacKay '18 for most in program history.
This is the third time this season where Washuta earned defensive honors and Closterman earned rookie honors in the same week. Vermont has claimed 10 America East weekly awards this season.
UVM returns to Virtue Field for the 2019 regular season home finale against Stony Brook (7-5, 3-1 AE) this Saturday (Apr. 20). The 12 members of the Class of 2019 will be honored prior to the 12:00 p.m. opening faceoff.
