The Vermont Catamounts (7-5, 4-2 AE) close the 2019 regular season with a neutral site clash against the fourth-ranked Penn Quakers (8-3, 6-0 Ivy) Saturday at Wilton High School in Wilton, Connecticut.

SCOUTING THE QUAKERS
The Quakers have won eight straight games after losses to Maryland, Duke, and Penn State to open the season. Penn ranks fourth in the nation per the Inside Lacrosse Media Poll behind Penn State, Maryland, and Duke, in that order. The Quakers are fifth in the USILA Coaches Poll.

Junior Adam Goldner leads the team with 44 goals and 50 points. His 44 goals match the Penn single season record. He is tied for the seventh longest active goal streak in the NCAA at 20 games. Goldner ranks 18th in the NCAA with 4.55 points per game. His 4.00 goals per game rank second in the nation behind Loyola's Kevin Lindley (4.08/game).

Freshman Sam Handley ranks second on the team with 44 points behind 27 goals and 21 assists. He is second among freshmen in the NCAA with 4.36 points per game, trailing Army's Brendan Nichtern (4.46/game). Junior Kyle Gallagher is 12th in the nation with a .627Â (185-of-295) success rate at the faceoff X.

The Quakers rank second in the nation in scoring offense (15.55), second in the nation in points per game (24.64), fifth in the nation in scoring margin (4.00), fifth in the nation in assists per game (9.09), and eighth in the nation in faceoff percentage (.615).

INSIDE THE SERIES
The Catamounts and Quakers meet for the first time in series history Saturday in Connecticut. It marks the fifth Ivy League opponent Vermont has faced.

REALLY FAST CATS
Vermont's pair of goals in a seven second span at Binghamton was the fastest since UVM buried two in a six second span in a 2017 win over Holy Cross.

Dawes Milchling added another with 6:57 to play. In 2017,
Rob Hudson scored with 10:29 to play in the first quarter and

FRESHMEN STEAL THE SHOW
Vermont's freshmen class leads the team in point, goal, and assist production in 2019. The freshmen have accounted for 82 of Vermont's 219 points for 37.4% of the team's point production. The newcomers have tallied 54 of Vermont's 137 goals for 39.4% of the team's goal production in 2019. They have 28 of UVM's 82 assists for 34.1% of all helpers.

Sal Iaria (10-8-18) represent three of Vermont's top seven scorers this season.

A LOOK AHEAD
Vermont will play in next weekend's 2019 America East Tournament as the second or third seed. The Cats have reached the America East Championship game in two of the last three seasons.
