Sammy Kolowrat and rookie forward
Theresa Schafzahl have been named to the Czech Republic and Austrian national teams, respectively, that will be competing at the 2019 IIHF Women's World Championships. Kolowrat and the Czech Republic will take part in the top division from April 4-14 in Finland, while Schafzahl's Austrian team will compete in the Division I Championship from April 7-13 in Budapest, Hungary.

Kolowrat appeared in 36 games on the back end for the Catamounts this past season, tallying 11 points on three goals and eight assists. She played in 141 career games for the Green & Gold, which is the tied for the sixth most in program history, with 28 points (8 goals, 20 assists). The Prague, Czech Republic native will be making her fifth trip to the Women's World Championships after skating in 16 games in the top division and five games in the first division. Kolowrat most recently skated for her home country at the 2017 Women's World Championship in Plymouth, Michigan. She made her senior national team debut at the 2013 Women's World Championships in Ottawa, Ontario.
Schafzahl also played in 36 games at UVM during her freshman campaign, amassing 17 points on seven goals and 10 assists. She was selected to represent Austria in last year's World Championship (Division I) in France, where her team finished second. The Weiz, Austria native will be skating in her fourth World Championship since she made her debut with the senior team in 2016.
