BURLINGTON, Vt. - UVM head women's hockey coach
Jim Plumer unveiled the team's 2019-20 schedule on Thursday afternoon. The Catamounts will play 18 home games this season highlighted by the seventh annual Pack The Gut Challenge Presented by the Windjammer on Friday, February 7 against UConn.

2019-20 Schedule
- UVM will open the 2019-20 campaign with an exhibition home tilt against uOttawa on Friday, Sep. 27 at 4 p.m. The Catamounts regular season opener will come 13 days later against St. Lawrence University. UVM will host the Saints on the front end of a home-and-home series on Thursday, Oct. 10 at 6 p.m.
- Vermont will host the sixth annual Windjammer Classic on the weekend after Thanksgiving. As is custom all four women's hockey conferences will be represented with Minnesota State (WCHA), 2019 Frozen Four Finalist Clarkson (ECAC), and Penn State (CHA) challenging the Catamounts. On Friday, Nov. 29 Minnesota State will face Clarkson at 1 p.m. followed by Vermont and Penn State at 4 p.m. The winners will faceoff Saturday evening at 4 p.m.
- Vermont will welcome the two-time defending Hockey East Champion Northeastern Huskies to the Gut in late January. UVM will square off with the Huskies at 6 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 24 and again at 4 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 25. The Huskies defeated Vermont in the Hockey East Quarterfinals last season.
- The seventh annual Pack The Gut Challenge Presented by the Windjammer will be Friday, Feb. 7 at 6 p.m. as the Catamounts face Connecticut. It will be UConn's third time participating in the event. The Huskies defeated UVM 2-1 in 2016, but fell 1-0 in 2018.
- The final regular season home game of the 2019-20 campaign will be Saturday, Feb. 22 at 4 p.m. as the Catamounts face Maine.
- The top eight teams in Hockey East will qualify for the Hockey East Tournament. The quarterfinals will be the weekend of February 28 – March 1 with the top four teams in the standings hosting best-of-three series.
The Catamounts return 19 players from the 2018-19 campaign including 68.5% of their scoring. Vermont's top-three scorers
Ève-Audrey Picard (21 Pts),
Kristina Shanahan (17 Pts) and
Theresa Schafzahl (17 Pts) will lead the Catamounts offensive attack. Vermont closed out the regular season on a 3-1-2 stretch to earn a Hockey East playoff berth last season.
