BEFORE VERMONT: Huertas played in the Junior Women’s Hockey League (JWHL) as a member of the North American Hockey Academy (NAHA), based then in Stowe, Vt. … She had 22 goals and 26 assists for 48 points in 79 games … She registered 2 goals and 1 assist for a season best three points at Warner Hockey School (12/3) … NAHA won the JWHL Cup after going 25-1-1 during the 2010-11 season.
