Vermont Athletics will host a celebration of the 40th Anniversary of varsity men’s lacrosse on April 1, 2017 as the Catamounts host Hartford at Virtue Field in a rematch of the 2016 America East Championship Game.

Celebration Details and Schedule
12 p.m. – Vermont vs. Hartford at Virtue Field
All alumni in attendance will be introduced on-field at halftime and members of the 40th Anniversary All-Time Team will be announced.
3-5 p.m. – Alumni Reception at UVM Alumni House
The reception will include hors d'oeuvres, a cash bar and a speaking program that will have a slideshow and footage from the last 40 years of Vermont Lacrosse. The 40th Anniversary All-Time Team and members of the Founder’s Group, who started the lacrosse program at Vermont, will be recognized during the program.

40th Anniversary Team
Leading up to the celebration, alumni and fans are encouraged to nominate standout Catamounts players from the last 40 years for the 40th Anniversary Team. All nominees will be placed on ballots by position and then voted on by alumni. Nominations were accepted through Tuesday, Feb. 21 and ballots were released each week by position starting Monday, Feb. 27. The players who were voted by their peers to be a part of this team will be announced at halftime of the Vermont v. Hartford game on Saturday, April 1 as well as recognized at the alumni reception following the game.
Hotel Block for Out-Of-Town Alumni
Vermont Athletics has held a room block at the Sheraton Burlington for those attending this event. The rate of $139 per night was available through
