Dr. Paul P. Harasimowicz, Jr. 1957 - Football, Track and Field

This two-sport star was one of the best in the mid-50's, earning All-New England honors in football and holding two track records at UVM. Dr. Paul Harasimowicz, a 1977 UVM Hall of Fame inductee, was a starting offensive and defensive tackle for three years (1954-56), and was selected to the All-Yankee Conference first team in 1956 and Small College All-New England the same season.

Following graduation, he was drafted by the Philadelphia Eagles and the Montreal Alouettes of the Canadian Football League, but decided on dental school at McGill University where he continued to play football for several more seasons, playing on the Eastern Collegiate Championship team in 1960. He was also awarded the Montreal Sportsman Club Award that year.

In track at UVM, Dr. Harasimowicz held the shot put record (47'43/4") and the University discus mark (143') and captained the 1956 track team.

In Gardner, Mass., he was a member of the Gardner Zoning Board of Appeals and the Director of the Gardner Little League for eight years
