Jeff Guilmette was a 10-time America East Track & Field champion during his time at Vermont, winning eight titles in the shot put and two in the discus throw. Guilmette was undefeated in the shot put throughout his collegiate career, becoming the first and only athlete to win eight America East shot put titles in four years of competition.

He still owns the fourth-best outdoor throw and fifth-best indoor throw of all-time in the shot put at an America East Championship meet. Guilmette currently ranks second at UVM in the indoor and outdoor shot put. He also won three New England shot put titles and finished second overall at the 2002 IC4A meet against the best Division I competition on the East Coast.

Guilmette was also the 1999 and 2001 America East champion in the men’s discus throw and still holds the school record in the event (49.76 meters), a mark he posted in 2001. As a captain in his final season as a Catamount in 2002, Guilmette was the male recipient of the Sunderland Memorial Trophy, which honors senior student-athletes for their athletic achievement, character and leadership.
