Kate Goodchild '01 | UVM Athletic Hall of Fame Video Presentation
Goodchild helped lead the Catamount women's track & field team to two America East titles and one New England title in her final two seasons on campus. Goodchild was a three-time America East Track & Field All-Conference selection from 1999-2001 and earned All-New England honors all four years of her standout career at Vermont. She was a two-time conference champion in the long jump (1999 and 2001), and also was crowned the 1999 New England outdoor long jump champion. At the America East Championship in her junior campaign, she was second in the long jump, third in the 100 hurdles, fourth in the high jump, and also ran on the 4x100 relay team that finished second and set a school record.

During her time with the Catamounts, Goodchild was a member of the 4x100-meter and 4x200-meter relay teams that still hold school records in both events. Until last year, she owned the program's indoor record in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 9.18 seconds. Goodchild currently ranks top-5 at UVM in seven events. She secured 16 different top-3 finishes in America East Championship competition in four years, and accomplished the feat five times during New England Championship meets. As a senior in 2001, Goodchild was the female recipient of the Semans Trophy for earning the respect of her teammates through leadership, loyalty, and service to the University of Vermont.
