Michael Gabel '05 | Video Introduction
One of the top goalkeepers to play in the Vermont men's lacrosse program, Gabel ranks in the top-three in every career statistical category. An America East All-Conference First Team selection in 2003, he was a two-time team defensive MVP during his career. He owns the best goals against average in program history (8.27) and is third in save percentage (.617). A two-time team captain, he was invited to attend the prestigious Warrior Major League Challenge following his senior season. The event recognized the top-40 senior lacrosse players across Division I, II and III. Following graduation, Gabel spent one season as an assistant coach at UVM. He then pursued a professional career in Major League Lacrosse, going on to play for the Chicago Machine, Rochester Rattlers, Boston Cannons and Chesapeake Bayhawks. Gabel played in 61 career games over nine years (2006-14) and ranks eighth in saves (863) and 10th in both games played (61) and minutes played (3,020) in the league
