Michele Palmer '04 | Video Introduction
One of the top cross country runners in the region over her four-year career, Palmer was a nine-time America East Academic Honor Roll selection, a two-time NCAA qualifier in cross country, and a two-time conference champion in track and field. Palmer, an environmental studies major at UVM, was named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District I Second Team in 2002 and was also selected as an Arthur Ashe Jr. Sports Scholar that same year. She was also named a U.S. Cross Country Coaches Association Academic All-American in 2003. A three-time runner-up at the America East Cross Country Championships, she was named to the All-New England team three times and qualified for the NCAA Cross Country Championships twice in 2000 and 2001. She was a three-time runner up at the America East Cross Country Championships and also won the America East Indoor and Outdoor Track & Field Championship in the 5,000-meters. Palmer, who garnered All-New England honors for three straight seasons in the 5,000-meters, held the UVM school record in the event for 10 years before it was finally broken in 2012.
