OCALA, FL – The Catamounts had a strong first day at their first ever CSCAA National Invitational appearance sitting in 30th out of 59 women's teams with 33 points. Vermont got key individual performances from
Ella Church (500 free) and
Hally Laney in the 50 fly and placed in the 200 free relay and 400 medley relay.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Church placed 14th in the 500 free B Final with a time of 4:51.30 to earn Vermont seven points.
- Laney finished in ninth in the 50 fly A Final with a time of 25.05 to earn UVM 12 points.
- The combination of Church, Alexis Torykian, Laney and Havana Layton placed 33rd in the 400 medley relay with a time of 3:53.72 earning eight points for the Catamounts.
- In the 200 free relay Laney, Jackie House, Layton and Emily Rocco combined to finish 30th with a time of 1:35.39 to give Vermont their final 11 points of the day.
UP NEXT
The Catamounts will continue to compete at the CSCAA National Invitational with day two on Friday (Mar. 15). Prelims are slated to begin at 9:30 a.m. with the Finals scheduled to begin at 6 p.m. The Catamounts will have Laney competing in the 100 fly and Church in the 200 free. Vermont will also compete in the 200 medley relay and the 800 free relay.
