2011 OUTDOOR SEASON: Competed in six events during the outdoor season … Set a career best in the 1,500m with a mark of 4:33.43 at the Princeton Larry Ellis Friday Night Races (4/22) … She also set a career best in the 10,000m at the 53rd Annual Mt. SAC Relays (4/14) with a time of 34:43.23 … She qualified for the NCAA East Regional with her time in the 10,000m … At the America East Championships she finished third in the 5000m with a time of 16:37.78, earning All-America East honors … At the New England Championships she finished sixth in the 1500m with a time of 4:33.73 … In the NCAA Division I East Preliminary Round Powers finished 16th in a time of 34:02.56.
2011 INDOOR SEASON: Competed in nine meets during the indoor campaign … At the America East Championships she finished sixth in the 3000m with a time of 9:43.57 … She also competed as a member of the 4,000m distance medley finishing third overall … At the New England Championships she earned All-New England honors finishing fourth in the 1 mile with a time of 4:50.96 … Powers also competed in the ECAC Championships in the 3000m … She finished fourth overall in 9:34.82.
BEFORE VERMONT: Came to UVM from Indian Hill High School, in Cincinnati, Ohio ... Was a member of the cross-country, track and field and dance teams ... Was part of the district champions in the 4x800 in 2007 ... Team set the high school record in the 4x800 relay.
PERSONAL: Born in Cincinnati, Ohio ... Daughter of Tom and Ann Powers ... Has three younger brothers Connor, Logan, Reid and two sisters Madison, and Blair ... Is a nutrition and food sciences major.
