2015 Roster
BURLINGTON, Vt. – Vermont women's lacrosse head coach
Jen Johnson announced today that the program will add five newcomers to the squad for the upcoming 2015 season.
"We are excited for the addition of five freshmen to the team this fall. Their competitive club and high school teams have prepared them well for the next level. They will add depth in the midfield as well as different looks on offense this season," commented Johnson.
Kim Arkell M – 5-7 – Brentwood, New Hampshire/Exeter High SchoolArkell was named an All-American and All-State performer in her final two seasons at Exeter. She also earned a spot on the New Hampshire Twin State Team in two seasons, and was named to the NH All-Star Team following her senior year.
Courtney ColeM – 5-8 – York, Maine/York High SchoolCole was named to the Western Maine Class B All-Conference Team during her junior and senior seasons after earning an honorable mention selection in 2012. In 2013, Cole earned a spot on the Maine National Girls Lacrosse Team, and won York's Offensive Player Award.
Elena McWrightA – 5-3 – Baldwin, Maryland/Maryvale Preparatory SchoolMcWright earned a spot on the IAAM All-Conference Team following both her sophomore and junior seasons. In 2014, McWright was named an All-Towson Times Honorable Mention performer, and earned Maryvale Prep's Unsung Hero Award.
Becca Olsen
A – 5-6 – Concord, Massachusetts/Concord-Carlisle High SchoolOlsen helped lead her team to Dual County League titles in all four seasons at Concord-Carlisle. She was named a league all-star from 2012-14, earned a Boston Globe All-Star selection in 2013, and was tabbed a Lowell Sun All-Star performer following her junior and senior seasons.
Bailey Saneman M – 5-8 – Jarrettsville, Maryland/North Harford High SchoolSaneman, a team captain in high school, helped lead her squad to a regional championship title in 2012. During her time at North Harford, Saneman earned UCBAC All-Star and first team all-county selections.
The Catamounts won a program-high 12 games this past season and advanced to the America East Semifinals for the second consecutive year. The team returns 67% of its scoring from the 2014 campaign, including
Jessica Roach and
Vanessa VanderZalm, who were each named to the IWLCA Regional All-American Second Team and America East All-Conference First Team last season.
ALUMNAE GAMEVermont Women's Lacrosse will be hosting their annual alumnae game on Saturday, October 4th at 11:30am, followed by a reception (1pm) at the Best Western Windjammer for parents, players and alumnae.
