BURLINGTON, Vt. – The University of Vermont men's basketball team has been playing with a heavy heart after learning that incoming freshman Josh Speidel of Columbs, Indiana was seriously injured in a car accident on February 1.
Speidel is listed in critical but stable condition at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis.
The outpouring of support for Speidel and his family has been overwhelming. The Vermont team sent Speidel a get well video shortly after the accident happened (

John Becker also made a trip to Indiana to visit with the Speidel family.

GoFundMe account was set up for anyone wanting to donate to help the Speidel family cover medical costs.
The University of Vermont Athletic Department and the America East Conference have worked with the NCAA to allow Vermont fans and those associated with the UVM program to make a donation. Please note, donors affiliated with NCAA institutions cannot publicize the amount of their donation.
