In conference play Colang was sixth in scoring with 12 Hockey East goals. Six of those came on power play, which was tied for first in the league with Northeastern's Kendall Coyne. Colang was also fifth in Hockey East with 32 blocked shots this season.
"It was exciting to see Dayna's first year as a forward and it's a credit to her that the league recognized her for having an excellent season," said head coach
Jim Plumer. "Dayna has become a legitimate threat in the offensive zone and in particular her success on the power play was a key to having one of the best power play units in the country this year. I am looking forward to her having an even better senior year."
Colang will head into her senior season at Vermont with 69 points on 32 goals and 37 assists over 103 career games, fourth on the program's all-time scoring list.
