BURLINGTON, Vt. –
Sarah Kelly and
Gina Repaci will serve as co-captains of the University of Vermont women's hockey team for the 2015-16 season. Vermont head coach
Jim Plumer made the announcement today.
"I'm looking forward to working with Gina and Sarah in leading our team next season," said Plumer. "They both are fierce competitors and their teammates and our staff have a great deal of faith in their ability to positively impact our team dynamic next season."
Kelly, a junior forward, skated in all 36 games for the Catamounts this past season. She recorded two goals and two assists for four points. She scored her second career game-winning goal as Vermont defeated Connecticut on November 2. In her two seasons as a Catamount she has never missed a single game.
As a senior Repaci will be beginning her fifth season with the Catamounts next year. She skated in 30 games for the Catamounts during her junior campaign scoring one goal and adding eight assists. Her lone goal of the season was the game-winner at No. 6 Boston U as the Catamounts won their first ever game at Walter Brown Arena.
Vermont is coming off a seventh-place finish in Hockey East with a program record nine non-conference wins. The Catamounts return three of their top-five scorers and 51.2 percent of their scoring for the 2015-16 season.
