WAKEFIELD, Mass. – Hockey East announced this morning that 12 Vermont women's hockey players were among the league-record 106 student-athletes named to the league's 2014-15 All-Academic Team. Freshman forward
Kourtney Menches also earned the prestigious honor of being named a Hockey East Top Scholar-Athlete.

Bridget Baker,
Sarah Campbell,
Dayna Colang,
Madison Litchfield,
Kourtney Menches,
Klara Myren,
Amanda Pelkey,
Gina Repaci,
Taylor Willard, and
Brittany Zuback all maintained a 3.0 or better grade point average (GPA) in each of the two academic periods in which they actively competed this season.
Menches was named a Hockey East Top Scholar-Athlete for compiling a perfect 4.0 GPA during her freshman season. She was also named to the Hockey East All-Academic All-Star Team. She was one of five players in Hockey East this year to maintain a perfect 4.0.
Klara Myren was recognized with "Distinguished Scholar" status after achieving a 3.0 GPA in each semester of her four varsity seasons.
Vermont's 12 honorees are the most under head coach
Jim Plumer and the best since the Catamounts had 13 honorees following the 2009-10 season.
