Josh Graser joined University of Vermont women’s hockey as the program’s director of operations in July 2017 and completed his first season with the Catamounts in 2017-18.
Graser handled all travel arrangements, aided with film breakdown, and assisted with scouting. He helped the Catamounts knock off future national champion Clarkson, WCHA champion Minnesota, and Hockey East champion Northeastern twice. UVM was 4-1-1 against the two finalists of the Hockey East championship, Northeastern and UConn.
He comes to UVM after a stint at Canisius College where he served as director of men’s hockey operations. In that role, he spearheaded film breakdown, assisted with scouting and planned team travel. In 2016-17 the Golden Griffins went 21-11-7, including an 18-4-6 mark in Atlantic Hockey which vaulted the squad to a regular season league title.
Before Canisius, Graser spent the Summer of 2016 with the Rochester Rhinos of the United Soccer League. As fan development coordinator, he led community events and grassroots initiatives to foster team awareness and made continued efforts to expand the team’s fan base.
During his undergraduate years at SUNY Cortland, Graser was the vice president and captain of Cortland’s ACHA hockey program. He coordinated game scheduling, relayed game day operations information to players and staff and was a team liaison to the league’s senior staff.
He is a Level 1 coach with USA Hockey.
