WORCESTER, Mass. – Molly Higgins and
Tess O'Brien registered a goal apiece and
Lena Benwood earned a shutout in goal, as Vermont field hockey posted a 2-0 victory over Holy Cross Sunday afternoon at Hart Turf Field.
Â
The Catamounts got on the board with just under five minutes left in the first half to open the scoring. Senior

Â
With Vermont still leading by one goal late in the second half, McDonald forced a turnover deep in Holy Cross territory. The captain sent a pass towards the middle of the circle and the ball trickled over to O'Brien. The freshman lofted it past Kat Matchett for her third goal in the last two games.
Â
Vermont held off Holy Cross in the final minutes of the contest to secure the 2-0 victory.
Â
Benwood made three saves in goal for UVM to notch her third career victory and second career shutout. Langman stopped one shot and took the loss for Holy Cross.
