BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Danny Childs' first goal of the season proved to be the game-winner as the Vermont Catamounts posted a 3-2 victory over the Jacksonville Dolphins on the final day of the UAB "Soccer for a Cure" Tournament.
Vermont improves to 5-1 on the season, while Jacksonville falls to 1-4 overall.

Jesse Cormier. "They battled from start to finish. This was an overall complete effort from back to front and the bench contributed energy and provided great depth today. We leave here in a pretty good place and this was a good tournament for us."
Vermont fell behind early as Ejiroghene Mrabure picked up his second goal of the season 18 minutes into the match.
The game was tied up in the 24th minute on an own goal by the Dolphins. The Catamounts answered seven minutes later, taking the lead for good in the 31st minute.
Brian Wright finished of an assist from the Childs for his team-leading fifth tally of the season.
The duo of Wright and Childs combined again in the 64th minute, this time Childs was on the receiving end of a cross from Wright to push UVM's lead to 3-1.
Jacksonville trimmed the lead to one when Mrabure finished off a scoring opportunity for his second goal of the match. But the Dolphins could not regain the lead the rest of the way.
Ryan Bailey was credited with one stop in the Vermont net to pick up his second win of the year. Marc Meny made four saves for Jacksonville.
Vermont returns to Virtue Field to host Hofstra on Sunday (Sept. 21) at 12 p.m. as part of a soccer doubleheader. The UVM women face Dartmouth at 3:30 p.m. the same day.
