The Cavaliers received goals from five different players in the first half, as they took a 5-0 lead into halftime. Riley Tata and Katie Kelly capped off the period with a goal each in the final six minutes to extend the Cavaliers' lead.

Tata added a pair of goals to open the second half, as Virginia widened its lead to 7-0 in the 43
rd minute. Tollie Bell notched Virginia's final goal in the last minute of play, and the Cavaliers went on for an 8-0 victory.

Lena Benwood made a career-high 17 saves in the contest, as the rookie registered her second consecutive double-digit save effort. Jenny Johnstone stopped one shot and earned the win in goal for Virginia.

The Cavaliers improve their record to 9-2 on the season, while the Catamounts fall to 0-9.
