LOWELL, Mass. – Nat Reynisdottir scored twice to lead the UMass Lowell River Hawks to a 3-1 victory over visiting Vermont in America East women's soccer action on Thursday.

The River Hawks got on the board in the 34th minute. Nat Reynisdottir collected the ball just inside the top of the penalty area. UVM goalkeeper
Ally Ramos came out to challenge Reynisdottir, but she was able to maneuver past Ramos and scored on an open net.

Reynidottir netted her second goal of the game with just five minutes remaining in the half. She trapped a cross from Selja Snorradottier at the penalty spot and fired in a low shot to the right corner to push UMass Lowell's lead to 2-0

UMass Lowell made the score 3-0 less than a minute later. Ramos came off her line to challenge a River Hawk player and made an initial sliding stop, but the rebound fell to Thalia Petsis who was able to loft a shot over Ramos into an open net.

In the 61st minute, Sara Martin took a pass from
Nikki McFarland, beat a defender and launched a shot from a sharp angle outside the penalty area. The ball deflected off a UML defender and slipped into the net at the far corner. The goal was ruled an own goal by the River Hawks to ruin UML's shutout bid.

Julia Schneider matched her career-high with nine saves in net for UMass Lowell.
Ally Ramos was credited with three saves for Vermont.

The Catamounts return to action on Sunday (Oct. 18) when they host Albany at 1 p.m. in the final regular season home game. Prior to the start of the match UVM will honor its senior class of
