STONY BROOK, N.Y. - The Vermont Catamounts picked up an important point in the America East standings to remain in a three-way tie for first place in the conference with a 1-1 draw at Stony Brook in men's soccer on Sunday.
UVM moves to 2-1-1 in the conference and 7-5-2 overall. Stony Brook stands at 1-2-1 in the league and 4-6-3 on the year.RELATED LINKS

Jack Shea was issued a red card in the 15th minute, leaving the Catamounts to play a man down the rest of the match.
UVM benefited from a Stony Brook own goal in the 42nd minute to take a 1-0 lead at the half. A Vermont cross was mishandled by the Stony Brook goalkeeper and wound up in the net to give the Catamounts the lead.
The Seawolves tied the game up in the 67th minute. Serge Gamwanya converted a free kick from 30 yards out to knot the game up at 1-1.
Neither team was able to find the game-winning tally in the remainder of regulation or the two overtime periods.
Stony Brook finished the match out shooting Vermont 16-11. The Catamounts held a 5-3 advantage in corner kicks.
Greg Walton was credited with five stops in the Vermont net, while Jason Orban made one save for Stony Brook.
