The Catamounts dropped to 16-10-2 (8-7-1 HEA), while the Wildcats improved to 10-16-2 (5-10-1 HEA) as the teams split the weekend series.

Andrew Poturalski netted two goals in the first period to give UNH a 2-0 lead after 20 minutes. The freshman wristed a shot inside the right post through a screen at 13:25 to open the scoring on the power play. Poturalski then beat
Brody Hoffman five-hole with a low shot from the right circle four minutes later at even strength.

Vermont began its comeback midway through the second period as
Mike Paliotta sent a drive past Daniel Tirone glove side from the left half wall with a delayed penalty coming on UNH.
Kevin Irwin finished off a triangle passing play in the slot on the ensuing power play, tucking a one-timer inside the left post from the slot.

The Catamounts took their first lead of the night on a two-man advantage with less than five minutes left in the middle frame.
Colin Markison collected a pass from
Nick Luukko in the low left circle before beating Tirone with a wrist shot blocker side for a 3-2 cushion.

UVM carried the lead into the third, but New Hampshire knotted the score just seconds after a power play expired at the 6:33 mark. Matias Cleland collected a faceoff win at the left point and fired a low slap shot off the right post far side.

Just past the 12-minute mark, Casey Thrush put the Wildcats back on top with a one-timer from the slot on the power play. Tyler Kelleher deked a backhand around Hoffman with five minutes to go for a 5-3 lead, and Matt Willows sealed the victory with an empty-netter at 18:43.
UVM out-shot 32-24, including an 18-4 edge in the second period. The Catamounts scored three power play goals in a game for just the second time this season.
