BRIDGEPORT, Conn. – Vermont men's hockey senior forward
Colin Markison has signed an amateur tryout agreement (ATO) with the Bridgeport Sound Tigers, the American Hockey League affiliate of the New York Islanders. Markison becomes the third Catamount to sign a pro deal since the end of the season, joining classmates
Mike Paliotta (Chicago Blackhawks) and
Nick Luukko (Lehigh Valley Phantoms).

Markison ranked fourth on the team in scoring during the 2014-15 season, setting a new career-high with 25 points on nine goals and 16 assists. The senior was tied for second on the squad with seven goals during Hockey East play and chipped in four power play goals during the regular season.

The Princeton, New Jersey native closed his four-year career with 52 points on 23 goals and 29 assists in 127 contests. He helped the Catamounts win 42 games during his final two campaigns, reaching the NCAA Tournament in 2014 and the Hockey East Semifinal at TD Garden last weekend.
Bridgeport begins a four-game homestand against the Hershey Bears this afternoon at 3 p.m., followed by a matchup against the Springfield Falcons on Wednesday (April 1) at 11 a.m. The Sound Tigers play their home games at Webster Bank Arena, where the Catamounts skated in the 2009 and 2014 NCAA East Regional.
