VESTAL, N.Y. – The No. 2 seeded Albany Great Danes posted a 63-33 victory over No. 7 Vermont in the America East Quarterfinals at the Events Center on the campus of Binghamton University.
Albany advances to the semifinals and improves to 22-8, while Vermont ends its season with a 5-24 record.
Shereesha Richards, the America East Player of the Year, posted a double-double with 20 points and 14 rebounds and Imani Tate added 21 points and eight boards.
Kylie Butler paced the Catamounts with nine points and
Sydney Smith, an America East All-Rookie selection, added seven points and four rebounds.
The Catamounts trailed 14-9 with 8:55 left in the first half. Albany responded with a 12-0 run to open up an 18-point lead and went into the locker room with a 33-13 advantage.
The Great Danes scored the first 12 points of the second half to extend their lead, 45-13, at the 17:09 of the stanza, and maintained a comfortable lead the rest of the way.
NOTES: The game marked the final game for Vermont seniors

Taylor finished her career with 1,106 points (16th all-time), 788 rebounds (5th all-time) and played in her 120th career game tonight (7th all-time).
