MONTREAL – Former Vermont men's hockey forward Torrey Mitchell '07 has signed a three-year contract with the National Hockey League's Montreal Canadiens. Mitchell joined the Canadiens from the Buffalo Sabres prior to the NHL trade deadline in March.
 
The Greenfield Park, Quebec native recorded six goals and eight assists for 14 points in 65 regular season games between the two teams. He also played in all 12 of Montreal's Eastern Conference playoff games and registered five points on a goal and four assists.
 
Mitchell has notched 122 points in 529 career NHL games with the San Jose Sharks, Minnesota Wild, Sabres, and Canadiens. He played three collegiate seasons for the Catamounts and recorded 105 points in 115 contests.
