Molly Higgins recorded a pair of goals to lead the Catamounts to their second win of the season.

Higgins set the tone for Vermont as she sent the ball through the corner of Siena's net in the ninth minute of play. The Catamount defense played strong for the remainder of the first half holding the Saints to five shots.

In the second half, a corner by Higgins set up
Lauren Tucker for a shot at goal. Although denied, junior
Anne-Marie Farmer picked up the rebound to tip the ball in for her second goal of the season giving Vermont a 2-0 edge.Â

Eight minutes later Higgins struck again from the center of the circle on an assist from Farmer. The late goal was her fifth to date and secured the UVM victory.

Lena Benwood took to the net for the Catamounts and Mary Drabich for Siena both were credited with a save each. Benwood tallied nine total on the weekend and recorded her second shutout of the year. UVM improves to a 2-6 record, whlie Siena falls to 1-6.
Vermont returns to action on Friday, September 25 and Sunday, September 27 when it travels to Rhode Island and Connecticut. The Catamounts take on Bryant at Brown on Friday in an 11 a.m. matchup and face Quinnipiac on Sunday at 12 p.m.
