The match marked the final regular season contest as Catamounts for seniors
Anne-Marie Farmer and
Emily Snowden, both of whom were recognized at the beginning of the afternoon.
UVM got on the board in the 29th minute courtesy of Sericolo's third goal of the season. After
Carla Godsman inserted a penalty corner, the ball found its way to the doorstep of the cage when
Lauren Tucker and Godsman each recorded shots. Sericolo corralled the latter rebound along the goal line, ultimately jamming the ball between the leg guards of Maine keeper Emily Corbett.
After Maine added two quick tallies to enter halftime ahead 2-1, the Black Bears added some insurance in the 61st minute. Riley Field took a lead pass along the far sideline from Libby Riedl and tucked her shot in the left corner, just beyond the reach of Snowden.
The Black Bears wrapped up the scoring for the day when Sydney Veljacic set up Brianna Ricker for a goal from the right side of the circle.
Snowden made nine saves on the day for the Catamounts, including a spectacular pair of stops in the 47th minute. Following Ella Mosky's penalty corner, Snowden dove right at the penalty spot to deny Samantha Wagg, then turned aside an additional attempt by Riedl.
Farmer wraps up her UVM career with 74 career games played, tying the program record in that category.
Vermont finishes the regular season with seven wins, its highest mark since earning nine victories in 2008. Maine wraps up the schedule with a 13-6 mark and 6-2 in America East play, securing the No. 2 seed in the upcoming America East Tournament.
