BURLINGTON, Vt. – Men's hockey freshman
Stefanos Lekkas, a business major, is our TD Bank Student-Athlete of the Week, for the period ending November 27.
Lekkas led the Catamounts to the Belpot Trophy at the 2016 Friendship Four in Belfast, Northern Ireland.
Lekkas made 73 saves over two games as Vermont defeated UMass and #3 Quinnipiac to claim the title. In Saturday's championship game against Quinnipiac he made a career-high 40 saves.
He was also named the Johns Elliot Solicitors Player of the Tournament.
In 10 games this season Lekkas has compiled a record of 8-1-2 with a Hockey East best 1.72 goals-against average and a .940 save percentage.
The Catamounts return to action on December 9 and 10 as they host seventh-ranked Boston University in a two-game Hockey East series. Both games start at 7:05 p.m. and tickets are available at
