ROCHESTER, Mich. – Oakland's Hannah Little had 22 points and a career-high 17 rebounds as Vermont fell to the Golden Grizzlies 79-55 on Tuesday afternoon at the Blacktop at the O'rena.

Hanna Crymble had a team-high 10 points for Vermont in the setback, while Kylie Butler chipped in 11 boards on the afternoon.
 
UVM gained some momentum early on in the game when Lauren Handy set up Crymble and Kallie Banker for a layup and 3-pointer, respectively, to give the squad a 5-0 headway. Oakland proceeded to claw its way back, taking an 18-11 lead by quarter's end in part courtesy of four points from Taylor Jones in the final minute.
 
As the second frame began, UVM appeared to be constructing a rally of sorts, working its deficit down to five after five total points by Butler and Candice Wright. The Golden Grizzlies responded with four points from Little in the final two minutes, securing an 11-point lead to move the score to 34-23.
 
Little locked up her double-double for OU heading into halftime, tallying 10 points and 12 rebounds before the break.
 
The Catamounts fought to chip away in the opening stages of the third quarter but Oakland countered with points on each occasion. The Golden Grizzlies then closed the stanza by constructing an 18-7 run, working its advantage to 25 at 65-40 and putting the game out of reach..
 
UVM was without the services of Crymble for most of the fourth quarter as the freshman was charged with her fifth foul with just under nine minutes on the clock.
 
Oakland registered 23 offensive rebounds on the afternoon and converted that into 29 second chance points.

Tuesday's results moved Oakland to 6-5 and the Catamounts to 3-8.
 
UVM now heads into a short holiday recess and returns to the court on Friday, Dec. 30, taking on Howard University at 2 p.m. in Washington.
