ABOUT VERMONTThe Catamounts most recently split the season series with UMass Lowell on Monday night after falling in a heartbreaking 68-66 loss at Patrick Gym. Vermont (7-17, 2-9) has already increased its number of wins from 2014-15 and matched its conference win total from last season.

UVM has had a strong presence under the basket, as it ranks second in the league by collecting 26 defensive rebounds and 13 offensive rebounds each game.

Vermont paces the conference for the second-straight season in blocks. Tallying 120 swats through 24 games, the Catamounts rank 26th nationally in total blocks and 32nd (5.0) in blocks per game.

Hayley Robertson posted her first career double-double vs UML on Monday as she eclipsed the 20-point mark for the first time this season. Robertson also reached double-figure rebounding as she grabbed 10 boards.

As a team, Vermont has utilized the charity stripe to its advantage as it has shot perfect from the line twice this season, going 22-for-22 against UMass Lowell (Jan. 18) and 11-for-11 at Delaware (Dec. 22).

Hayley Robertson with a put-back from the foul line in the closing seconds, and UMass Lowell held on for a tight 68-66 victory at Patrick Gym on Monday night.

The Catamounts stormed back from a 12-point deficit in the fourth quarter and cut UMass Lowell's lead to three with under 30 seconds remaining. Robertson drifted to the right wing and drained a long three-pointer to tie the score at 66 apiece.

On their final possession, the River Hawks fed Kayla Gibbs in the post, but
Lauren Handy blocked her attempt from beneath the basket. The ball caromed to the free throw line for Mitchell-Owens, who nailed a jump shot for the game-winning basket. Robertson hoisted up a triple from the top of the key to win the game but it was off the mark.

SCOUTING THE HAWKSThe Hartford Hawks (10-14, 6-5) host Vermont after taking down the Binghamton Bearcats on Thursday 41-39 in Vestal, New York. Hartford has claimed two of its last three matchups and owns a 6-5 record when playing on its home court at Chase Arena at the Reich Family Pavilion.

The Hawks are scoring 49.8 points per game, shooting at a clip of 34-percent from the field, and converting 69-percent from the charity stripe. Deanna Mayza paces the Hawks' offense putting up 11.7 ppg, while dishing out at least four helpers a contest.

La'Trice Hall has tallied 123 rebounds this season (5.1 rpg) as Hartford pulls down 31.8 rpg, compared to Vermont's 40 boards. On the season, Hall is averaging 6.7 points, 3.9 rebounds and a team-best 1.4 steals per game.

SERIES HISTORYSaturday's game marks the 68th meeting between UVM and Hartford, as the Catamounts own a 35-32 edge in the all-time series. The last time out, Vermont fell to the Hawks at Patrick Gym 51-47 on Jan. 16.

Andreana Thomas set the tone for Vermont's offense by collecting a team-best 21 points and eclipsed the 20-point mark for the third time this season. Thomas grabbed four steals and pulled down seven rebounds.
