FINAL SCORE: Albany 75, Vermont 40BURLINGTON, Vt. – Vermont fell to the Albany Great Danes 75-40 in a conference rematch on Saturday at Patrick Gymnasium. The Catamounts are now 7-16 (2-8) on the season and Albany improves to 19-3 (10-0).

Andreana Thomas posted 12 points, seven rebounds and three assists to lead the Catamounts.
Lauren Handy went 4-for-8 from the field to pile up a career-best 11 points and pulled down three rebounds.

Imani Tate led three Danes in double-figures and recorded her 1,000th point with 19 points and nine rebounds. Tiana-Jo Carter registered a double-double as she added 18 points and grabbed 18 boards for Albany.

Katie Lavelle tallied six of Vermont's 14 first quarter points as the Catamounts trailed Albany 22-14 after one quarter. A long three-ball by Thomas from deep in the corner cut into the Danes' 10-point advantage, but Albany answered back with an 11-2 run to take its largest lead (39-21) with a minute to play in the half.

After 20 minutes the Catamounts trailed the Great Danes 41-25 as Albany shot over 46-percent (15-for-32) from the field. UVM matched Albany on the boards with 20 rebounds apiece.

The Danes extended their lead to 57-31 after eight minutes in the second half.
Kylie Butler connected on two from the charity stripe in the final moments of the quarter, but Albany held on to a 59-33 advantage with 10 minutes to play.

Handy drilled a basket from behind the arc to give her a new season-high of 11 points at the 2:19 mark of the fourth but the Danes secured the win and remain undefeated in America East. The Catamounts held the league's leading scorer Shereesha Richards to just nine points on 2-of-9 shooting on the afternoon.
