STONY BROOK, N.Y. – No. 11 Stony Brook scored 16 straight goals to erase a four-goal deficit and post a 19-8 victory over visiting Vermont in the America East opener for the Seawolves. Stony Brook moves to 7-3 overall and opens league play at 1-0. Vermont falls to 4-7 on the year and 0-2 in conference play.

Vermont jumped out to a four goal lead, 6-2, behind goals from Dehm, Bolt and Yarranton, at the 13:53 mark of the first half.

The Seawolves responded with six straight goals to close the half, including one by Ohlmiller just before the halftime horn, to gain an 8-6 advantage at the break.

Stony Brook continued to dominate the attack in the second half, extending its rally with 10 consecutive scores to push out to an 18-6 lead with 9:59 left in the contest.

UVM scored two of the final three goals to close out the game.

Maddy Kuras combined for seven stops in the Vermont net. Anna Tesoriero was relieved by Kaitlyn Leahy after allowing five of UVM's six goals for Stony Brook. Leahy was credited with the only save for the Seawolves.

Vermont returns to action on Wednesday (April 6) when the Catamounts host UMass Lowell at 3 p.m. at Virtue Field. All kids in attendance are encouraged to bring their sticks for a postgame pass and catch with the Cats following the contest.
