BURLINGTON, Vt. - Callon Williams and Sophia Racciatti scored four goals each to lift the Binghamton Bearcats to a 13-8 victory over Vermont in America East women's lacrosse action at Virtue Field on Saturday afternoon.
The game marked the regular season finale for both teams. Vermont finishes its season with a record of 6-10 (2-4 in America East), while Binghamton closes the season with a 6-11 mark (2-4 in America East).

Brynne Yarranton and
Bailey Saneman each registered three points to pace the Vermont offense.
Williams and Racciatti combined for five of Binghamton's first six goals as the Bearcats took a 7-3 lead after the first 20 minutes.
The Catamounts rallied in the second half. Binghamton netted the first two goals of the second stanza. UVM came back to score four of the next six goals, including the first career goal for freshman
Alex Vignona to climb back within four, 11-7, with 4:38 remaining in the contest. However, that was as close at the Catamounts could get the rest of the way.
Rachel Smith made 10 saves in the Vermont net in her debut as a goalie for the Catamounts. Erin McNulty was credited with 13 stops to earn the win for the Bearcats.
NOTES: Saturday marked Senior Day for the duo of
Margaret Nealon and
Vanessa VanderZalm ... The pair combined to win 36 games, the second most among a four-year class in the program's history, and advanced to the America East Semifinals three straight years ... VanderZalm finished her career ranked among the top-10 leaders in every career category at UVM - 4th in points (193), 3rd in goals (149), 5th in assists (44), 2nd in ground balls (178), 2nd in draws (256) and 10th in games played (65).
