BURLINGTON, Vt. – The Great Danes scored the only goal of the contest midway through the first half and topped the Catamounts 1-0 on Thursday night at Virtue Field. Vermont falls to 6-6-2 overall and 2-2-1 in conference play. Albany improves to 4-10-1 on the year and 2-3-1 against league foes.

UVM had a chance in the 20th minute on a free kick.
Sarah Martin launched a ball from 40 yards out that carried into the box for
Savana Yurick, but Yurick's touch was too strong and the ball flew too wide of the near post.
The Great Danes netted the only goal of the evening in the 23rd minute. After the Cats tried to clear an Albany throw-in, Gina Bracamonte hooked a line drive from 20 yards out and snuck the eventual game-winner inside of the far post.
In the 61st minute, Yurick had another opportunity with a breakaway. After getting a low feed in the box, the junior was 1-on-1 with Albany keeper Andrea Leitner (6 saves) but Leitner made a kick save at point-blank range.
The Green and Gold eyed the equalizer again the 71st minute with a pair of headers. Martin booted a corner kick in front of the net where
Brooke Jenkins leaped up and knocked an attempt towards the left upright, but Leitner punched the ball up the air.
Bridgette King came flying in for the rebound but King's header flew over the top left corner of the net.
