SETTING THE SCENE
The Catamounts return to the conference slate and currently reside atop the America East standings with twin state rival UNH on a 4-1 record. The Green and Gold are in the midst of a three-game winning streak against league foes. The pair of 'Cat programs are also tied for second in America East with 72 points. Vermont's 72 points have come on 26 goals and 20 assists. Geo Alves has locked down the top spot in the league in nearly every offensive category - 22 points, nine goals, three game-winning goals, and 58 shot attempts. Justin Freitas has snuck up the scoring list in fourth place with 15 points and six goals.

LAST TIME OUT
In the first meeting between the former conference rivals since 2004, Northeastern scored two penalty kick goals and stole a 3-2 overtime victory from Vermont on Tuesday in the non-conference finale. In the 11th minute, Jon Arnar Barðdal notched his second goal of the season and gave UVM an early 1-0 lead. The Huskies tied the game on a penalty kick from Khori Bennett in the 32nd minute. With two and a half minutes left in regulation and trailing 2-1, Mikel Kabala tied the game with his fourth penalty kick goal of the season. In overtime, Bennett gave Northeastern the walk-off win with his second penalty kick goal of the contest in the 100th minute.

SENIOR DAY
Before the game, UVM will honor its four seniors for Senior Day. The Class of 2018 includes Arthur Bacquet, Tom Cole, Zack Evans, and Eamon Kitson.

REGIONAL RANKINGS
After beating UMBC over the weekend, Vermont climbed three spots to No. 7 in this week's United Soccer East Regional Poll. The regional power rankings were released on Tuesday. The Cats are one of four America East teams in the poll – No. 2 New Hampshire, No. 5 Albany, No. 6 UMBC, and No. 10 UMass Lowell.

ROOKIE SENSATION
First-year head coach Rob Dow is tied for second in the nation with nine victories among Division I rookie head coaches. Dow shares second place with Radford's Bryheem Hancock and Florida International's Kevin Nylen leads the pack with 11 wins under his belt.

FIRST-YEAR SUCCESS
Dow has also made his mark in Vermont's record book as a first-year head coach. Dow's nine wins are tied with his predecessor Jesse Cormier for the second-most by a UVM head coach in his first season. Paul Reinhardt set the mark by reaching the win column 11 times during his first season in Burlington.

SCOUTING BINGHAMTON
The Bearcats rank fifth in America East with 64 points on 24 goals and 16 assists. Junior forward Nikos Psarras is tied with Freitas in fourth place on the league's top scoring chart with six goals and sits in a seventh-place tie with 12 points. Sophomore forward Haris Brkovic follows with five goals and one assist for 11 points. Freshman midfielder Noah Luescher has matched Brkovic with 11 points on three goals and five assists, the second-highest assist tally in the conference. Redshirt sophomore goalkeeper Alejandro Cubillo has stopped the second-most shots in America East with 48 saves and he owns a .750 save percentage.

INSIDE THE SERIES
Saturday's match will be the 20th all-time meeting between the two programs as the Catamounts own an 11-5-3 edge. UVM has won the last three contests, including the 2015 America East Championship, and seven of the last eight overall. Since 2011, the Green and Gold have recorded six clean sheets against the Bearcats. Last year, Vermont reached the win column twice at Virtue Field with a 2-0 decision during the regular season and a 2-1 double overtime victory in the America East Quarterfinal.

WHO'S NEXT
Vermont closes the books on the regular season with a trip to 17th-ranked New Hampshire on Wednesday (Nov. 1). The opening kickoff is set for 7 p.m. Free live video will be available in HD at AmericaEast.TV
