LOWELL, Mass. – Landon Warren netted her 13th and 14th goals of the season, and
Tess O'Brien scored her first goal of the season, but Vermont (5-12, 1-7 AE) fell in double overtime to UMass Lowell (9-10, 3-5 AE) in the season finale.

Warren opened the scoring 7:20 into the first half when she ripped a shot from the center of the circle past River Hawk goalie Eva Berkhout to grab the early lead.
The River Hawks quickly answered, scoring two goals in the next 4:25 to take a 2-1 lead. Anouk Lalande deflected a pass from Clara Defourt on the wing and into the back of the net. Christa Doiron scored her first of two goals less than two minutes later when she finished a cross from Lalande.
Entering the second half trailing by a goal,
Olivia Hurd ripped a shot into traffic on a penalty corner into the heart of the UMass Lowell circle, where O'Brien was able to deflect the ball past Berkhout.
Warren netted her second goal of the game with just under 18 minutes remaining to give Vermont the lead. She put the penalty corner try into the back of the net off of a
Lauren Tucker assist.
With just over five minutes remaining in regulation, the River Hawks tied the game on a goal by Brooke Roberts. She deflected a shot from Katie Lynes over the defense and over the outstretched
Lena Benwood (7 saves) for the equalizer.
In the first overtime, neither team was able to end the game. Benwood made a pair of fantastic saves to keep the game going, and Warren had a pair of shots early in the period that were stopped by Kelsey Federico, who replaced Berkhout late in the second half.
Benwood stopped a Kelly Mankowich shot with just under ten minutes gone in the second overtime period, but Christa Doiron was able to put back the rebound into the bottom right corner of the net to give UMass Lowell the 4-3 double overtime victory.
Benwood finishes her Catamount career with 467 career saves, placing her seventh all-time in the UVM record book.
Vermont finishes the regular season with five wins, and the Class of 2018 will graduate in May with 19 victories over four seasons, with 12 coming in the past two seasons.
