HAMILTON, N.Y. – Vermont closed out a three-game road trip with a 14-11 non-conference defeat at Colgate on Saturday afternoon. The loss ends a three-game winning streak for the Catamounts against the Raiders.

Vermont falls to 0-3 to begin the season while Colgate starts the 2017 campaign off at 1-0.
Alison Bolt guided the UVM offense with a hat trick and dished out two assists. The senior won four draw controls and caused three turnovers.

Elena McWright tallied two goals apiece. Maddy Kuras made seven saves in net and
Catherine Green stopped four shots in a relief appearance.
Colgate's Isabel Kreitler scored a game-high five goals and added an assist. Haley O'Hanlon followed with four goals, an assist, and won six draw controls. Kristi Brigagliano charted a pair of goals for the Raiders and Asil Asfour saved six shots between the pipes.
The Raiders got on the scoreboard three minutes into the game with Kreitler's first goal. The Catamounts responded with four straight scores. Cole found the back of the net at 26:50 and Bolt gave UVM its first lead 16 seconds later. Cole padded the lead at 19:50 with an assist coming from
Meredith Moore and McWright capped off the scoring surge with a goal at 17:08.
Kreitler recorded back-to-back goals for Colgate and trimmed Vermont's lead down to 4-3. After Jenny Caoli provided an insurance score for the green and gold, the Raiders closed out the half with a pair of goals in the last two minutes for a 5-5 tie at halftime.
The Raiders opened the second half with two goals in a 46-second span and took a 7-5 lead. Bolt cut into Colgate's lead with her second goal of the contest at 23:59, but the Raiders responded with a pair of unanswered scores.
Bolt and McWright kept the Cats in the game with one goal apiece in a 31-second span as UVM closed the gap to 9-8.
Colgate broke out with three goals from the tandem of Kreitler and O'Hanlon at the 11:17 mark and held a 13-9 advantage.
With six and a half minutes remaining, Janes provided a spark for the green and gold with a man-up goal. Four minutes later, the sophomore found the back of the net for the second time but Vermont could not generate enough momentum to tie the game before time expired.
