BURLINGTON, Vt. – Vermont head coach
Sarah Dalton recorded her first career win at the helm of the Catamounts as UVM beat St. Bonaventure 17-10 in the non-conference finale on Thursday afternoon at Virtue Field.

The Catamounts forced 20 turnovers by the Bonnies and the green and gold won the shots battle 35-27. Â

"It's a process, every day we got better, and it's nice to have the final outcome show that," Dalton said after the victory.

Alison Bolt netted a career-high seven goals and finished the afternoon one score shy of tying UVM's single-game goals record. Bolt handed out an assist, scooped up three ground balls, won three draw controls, and caused three turnovers.
Jenna Janes notched her second hat trick of the season on four shots and distributed a pair of assists.
Bailey Saneman and
Molly Little tallied two goals apiece and
Meredith Moore had a big day with a goal and four assists.

LeighAnn Stauffer guided the Bonnies with a hat trick and won seven draw controls. Scarlett Jaworski scored twice as St. Bonaventure's scoring attack came from the sticks of seven different players.

UVM had a strong first half and wasted little time getting its offense started. Janes and Bolt scored back-to-back free position shots for the Cats and Janes added an unassisted goal at the 22:03 mark to give the green and gold an early 3-0 lead.

Jaworski cut into Vermont's lead two minutes later for the Bonnies' only goal of the first half as the Cats closed out the period with five unanswered scores for an 8-1 lead at the break.

In the second half, the Cats stretched their lead to 11-1 in a 2:18 stretch with goals from
Courtney Cole, Bolt, and
Elena McWright.

St. Bonaventure closed the gap to 13-6 by scoring five of the following seven goals in the game. Bolt and Little provided three more combined scores for UVM later in the period and padded its advantage to 16-7. Despite three more goals by the Bonnies in the final 6:19, the green and gold held off St. Bonaventure to capture a win in the non-conference finale.
