SMITHFIELD, R.I. – Vermont senior
Brynne Yarranton recorded her second-career hat trick in a 12-8 non-conference loss at Bryant on Saturday afternoon.

Vermont falls to 0-6 on the year while Bryant improves to 2-1 to begin the season.
Yarranton netted her three scores on three shots on goal and won a pair of draw controls.
Alison Bolt tallied two goals for the Cats with four draw controls, two ground balls, and caused two turnovers.
Molly Little,
Jenna Janes, and
Meredith Moore added one goal each to UVM's offensive attack.
Maddy Kuras made three saves in goal for the green and gold.
The Bulldogs were guided by hat tricks from Jess DeMeo and Caitlin Breglia. Catlin Brown tallied a pair of goals and Samantha Santeramo stopped half of a dozen shots between the pipes for Bryant.
The two teams traded goals through the first 12 minutes of the first half before the Bulldogs strung together four straight goals for a 6-2 lead at the break.
Bryant added one more goal to its lead before UVM mounted a comeback. Yarranton, Little, and Bolt scored three consecutive goals for the Cats in a 1:42 span.
As Vermont cut the deficit to 7-5, the Bulldogs responded with four more goals and stretched their lead to 11-5.
The green and gold tried to produce another comeback with a pair of goals from Yarranton and one more by Janes, but the Cats did not have enough time on the clock to even the score.
