BURLINGTON, Vt. – Despite a relatively close first half, the Catamounts could not pull off the upset over fourth-ranked Stony Brook on Friday afternoon with a 20-6 America East loss at Virtue Field.

Vermont falls to 1-13 on the year and 0-4 in conference play. Stony Brook improves to 13-1 overall and the Seawolves stay unbeaten in league play at 4-0.

Alison Bolt notched a pair of goals to lead the Catamounts.

Brynne Yarranton added one goal apiece for UVM.

Catherine Green set a new career-high with 20 saves.
Kylie Ohlmiller, the nation's top point scorer, guided the Seawolves with 11 points on five goals and six assists. Dorrien Van Dyke followed with four goals and handed out an assist. Stony Brook used a balanced scoring attack as nine different players found the back of the net. Anna Tesoriero earned the victory and made five saves in goal.
The Seawolves jumped out to a quick 2-0 lead in the opening 1:14 but Bolt cut the deficit in half with a free position goal at the 25:13 mark. Stony Brook produced four straight goals before McWright netted UVM's second goal of the afternoon. Little dished a pass to McWright in front of the goal, who flicked a shot through a pair of Stony Brook defenders.
After Ohmiller completed the hat trick at the 19:22 mark, Janes came through for the green and gold a minute later with an unassisted goal and kept UVM within striking distance at 7-3. The Seawolves scored two more in the half but Yarranton beat the clock with seven ticks left in the first half with her 20th goal of the season as Vermont trailed 9-4 at the break.
Stony Brook regained momentum in the second half with nine unanswered goals in a 11:40 stretch to put the game out of reach. UVM tallied two goals in the final period as Janes and Bolt charted their second scores of the afternoon.
