BURLINGTON, Vt. – The UVM women's soccer team kept its unblemished home record intact on Tuesday night with a 1-1 draw against Marist in non-conference action.

The Catamounts improve to 4-2-1 on the season and 4-0-1 at home while Marist moves to 3-4-1.
The Red Foxes jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the third minute. Annika Nielson sent a line drive cross from the right side of the box in front of the net to Erica Crosier, who tapped a one-timer towards the top right corner. UVM keeper
Coco Speckmaier (12 saves) jumped and deflected the shot but she could not stop the ball from finding the back of the net.
Late in the first half, the Catamounts eyed the equalizer from
Brooke Jenkins.
Savana Yurick dished a low through ball to Jenkins, who sprinted into the box and touched a shot towards the left side of the net, but the attempt was too wide.
Jenkins had another strong scoring chance in the 59th minute.
Angie Salvi passed to Jenkins on the left side of the box and the junior tried to bend a shot on frame, but the ball flew wide of the near post.
In the 72nd minute, Jenkins came through with the equalizer and her third goal of the season.
Sarah Martin took a free kick from about 40 yards out. The senior lofted a deep ball into the box where Jenkins leaped up and knocked a header into the right side of the net for the game-tying score.
In double overtime, Speckmaier came up with a big save to prevent a potential game-winner by Marist after Camille Bowen lined a shot from inside of the 18-yard box.
Vermont hits the road in its second-to-last non-conference game of the docket on Friday (Sept. 15) at Central Connecticut State. Action gets underway at 7 p.m. Free live video will be available at
