LOUDONVILLE, N.Y. – For the fourth time in the last five meetings, Vermont and Siena needed two overtime sessions to determine a winner. On Wednesday night, the Catamounts were topped by Siena 2-1 in non-conference action.

Vermont falls to 3-2 on the year while Siena snaps a two-game skid and improves to 3-2. UVM produced a season-high 22 shots in the tough loss.
The Catamounts struck first in the ninth minute with
Ella Bankert's second goal of the season.
Sarah Martin dished a pass to the top left corner of the box and Bankert tucked her shot inside of the far-right post.
Shortly before halftime, UVM eliminated a scoring threat by the Saints. The chance was set up by a corner kick and Darby D'Angelo's shot was too wide as the Cats went into the break with a 1-0 lead.
Five minutes into the second half, the Saints notched the equalizer and tied the game at 1-1. Madison Vasquez took a shot and got a friendly bounce off the crossbar after Gabby Albano and Deanna Lomino contributed assists.
The Green and Gold manufactured the only shot of the first overtime period in the 92nd minute when
Rylee Osgood's header was stopped by Siena goalie Taylor Dorado (12 saves).
In double overtime, Albano scored the game-winner with a long shot from 25 yards out by lofting the walk-off score over a stretched-out
Coco Speckmaier (2 saves).
Vermont heads to the nation's capital on Sunday (Sept. 10) to face American at 11 a.m.
