Elena McWright registered her first hat trick of the season but the Catamounts suffered a 15-6 setback at Marist on Saturday afternoon. Vermont drops to 1-2 on the year while Marist stays unbeaten at 2-0.

McWright complimented her three goals with a pair of ground balls and caused a turnover. UVM had three players score one goal each –
MacKenzie Bolt,
Courtney Cole, and
Elise Koehl.
Maddy Kuras recorded eight saves between the pipes.
Marist had three players notch a hat trick – Hailey Wagner, Morgan Jaycox, and Lauren Mazza. Wagner also dealt an assist and won 16 draw controls. Delaney Galvin earned the win in goal and made six saves.
The Red Foxes scored the first goal of the afternoon, but the Catamounts bounced back and took a 2-1 lead after Bolt and Koehl found of the back of net five minutes later. The rest of the period belonged to Marist as the Red Foxes netted eight straight for a 9-2 lead at the break.
Marist stretched its lead to double digits after scoring four goals to begin the second half. McWright added her first score of the afternoon at the 20:03 mark. After Jaycox tallied her final goal of the contest, McWright cut the deficit to single digits with back-to-back goals in a 1:12 span. Cole scored UVM's final goal of the day under the six-minute mark.
